Quakers hope to eat tasty Tigers for lunch

Compiled by the DP Sports Staff This year, however, the circumstances are different. For the first time in just as long, the Quakers are coming off an opening- meet victory. Penn chewed up Cornell 130-113 on Saturday at the Sheerr Pool. The win was sparked by freshman diver Kyle Goldbacher, who won both the one- and the three-meter events. That is another change of pace for Penn. In last season's Princeton meet, the Quakers were facing the No. 20-ranked team in the nation. Penn was unable to place in the top three for diving in the past two years -- and three years ago, the Quakers were able to only reach third. Every year, the Quakers saw excellent results from Jeff Brown, who should continue his reign of terror in the pool. Brown was the only Quaker to win an event last year, and has won two events in the past two years. In addition, John Levine anchored the 400-yard medley relay team, which also placed first against the Big Red. To put it mildly, the Quakers are hungry for a win against the Tigers. Just don't expect them to chew 'em up and spit 'em out.
