Compiled by DP Sports Staff Unlike the seniors, who were honored at a festive, emotional Palestra, Krug and Bowman did not have trophies and gifts to carry home and place on their mantle. They did have the respect and confidence of their teammates. Together, the two juniors will captain next year's men's basketball team, which is graduating all five starters in May. Introduced by this year's captain, Jerome Allen, Krug and Bowman are eager to carry on the legacy left by this senior class. "We certainly have our work cut out for us," Krug told the crowd. "But I'm confident that next year we'll put a 1996 up on that [Ivy championship] banner and the Ivy winning streak will be at 57 games." Allen and fellow senior guard Matt Maloney were each awarded the Arthur Kiefaber Most Valuable Player Award. For Allen, it was the third consecutive year his teammates so honored him. Garnering this year's Bus McDonald Inspirational Player Award was senior forward Scott Kegler. Kegler was introduced by former Quaker Andy Baratta, who won the past two seasons.
