To the Editor: First of all, why would they make the statement "Greeks congregate on one side of College Green, while artsy, Birkenstock people hacky-sack and 'disk' on the other?" What school do the Fogels go to? Everyone usually "congregates" on one side of the Green -- whether they are Greek or not -- and many of the people throwing "disks" in their Birkenstocks are Greek! Secondly, the Fogels pathetic attempt to appear politically correct is so sarcastic and pretentious it makes us sick! How dare they label impoverished people "financially disadvantaged," then throw an elementary school insult at helmetless bikers by calling them "gay"? We are assuming here that the two of them are not so moronic that you think that homosexuality would cause a person not to use a helmet. And if a person is in such despair -- the Fogels should look that word up in a dictionary to fully comprehend, because despair is not getting the smaller room -- that they must compromise their dignity and ask people for money, we don't care what excuse they must use! It also doesn't matter how their children are dressed -- many shelters will give nice hand-me-downs, or if any income is received, it will go into new clothes for the children. Begging for money is, we thankfully can only imagine, one of the most humiliating and difficult things to do, and people will not do it if they can afford to! As for college students being clueless, the Fogels beat them all. ASHLEY PAINE Nursing '95 JESSICA FULLER Nursing '95
