The Gap on 34th and Walnut streets was robbed early Sunday afternoon, acccording to University Police logs. Two males pulled up and double parked west on Walnut, just past the store, entered the building and approached the assistant manager. "She asked if she could be of help, and they said they were looking for a specific kind of coat," Lieutenant Susan Holmes said last night. They went to the rear of the store, then the assistant manager heard a loud noise, Holmes said. "She turned to look and saw the males grabbing 30 coats," Holmes added. One Gap employee said the coats were worth $100 each. In total, the men took about $3,000 worth of merchandise, the employee said. Gap Manager Sharyn Baker declined to comment, citing company policy. The assailants knocked down a rack of clothing on their way out the door, Holmes said. A witness was knocked out of the way by one male, saying "I'll shoot you," Holmes added. No one saw a weapon, and no arrests were made. In an unrelated incident on late Sunday night, a female student, walking along 37th Street, was approached by two juvenile females from behind. Each grabbed one of the student's arms and demanded for the student's purse, Holmes said. "They said 'Give me your bag,' " Holmes added. "They grabbed the bag and fled." Later, the two juveniles were stopped around the College Hall area by Officers Harrison and Sylvester and positively identified by the student, Holmes said. In another unrelated incident late Sunday night, a man was robbed at gun point by two assailants, Holmes said. "One of the actors had a gun," Holmes said. "He ordered [the victim] to give [the actors] the keys to his car." The man surrendered, and the assailants headed east on Market Street toward 40th Street, Holmes added. No arrests were made. In an unrelated incident early Monday afternoon, Sigma Chi fraternity house on 38th and Locust streets was burglarized, Holmes said. $300 worth of food was stolen, and entry was made through the rear door, Holmes added. No arrests were made.
