Four keys to Penn men’s basketball winning the Ivy Tournament

Under 24 hours from now in Cambridge, Penn men’s basketball will begin its most important stretch of the season. The Quakers face off on Saturday against Yale in the semifinals of the Ivy Tournament, and if they beat the Bulldogs, they’ll face either Cornell or (more likely) Princeton on Sunday for a spot in March Madness next week.

When associate head coach Nat Graham woke up Saturday morning to a call from head coach Steve Donahue, alerting of his absence for the evening due to COVID-19 protocols, piloting the Quakers against Ivy League leaders Princeton had not at all been in Graham's plans for Penn men's basketball's Senior Night.

This past Sunday, when all the pressure of the National Collegiate Squash Championships seemed to weigh heaviest on one of the youngest players in its lineup, Penn men's squash demonstrated its strongest team bond from behind the glass of Court 3 at the Penn Squash Center. And in spite of the freshman's toughly battled but heartbreaking defeat that would occur before them, the Quakers proved that even a loss in the final of perhaps the most anticipated competition of the season would not threaten their team unity.
