The Penn men’s golf team won the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Md., on Sunday.
The Quakers opened the 20-team, two-round tournament on Saturday, with a score of 294. That total put them in third place trailing George Washington, Georgetown and Columbia by three, two and two strokes, respectively.
Penn rallied in the final round, though, scoring a 299 and finishing the tournament four strokes ahead of George Washington.
Sophomore Max Marsico and senior Scotty Williams led the way for the Quakers, finishing first and third in the field with tournament scores of 143 and 145, respectively.
The par-71 U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club course will be a valuable warmup for the Quakers as they prepare for the Ivy League Championships, which start on Friday at Galloway (N.J.) National.
