More than a month has passed since University of Texas senior Cody Young was subject to a racially-motivated attack.
On February 20, Young was walking down a street when three white men threw bottles at him and yelled racial slurs. When Young threatened to call the police, the three men attempted to assault him.
Two of these attackers were later identified to be Tucker Sauer, 21, and Lucas Henderson, 20 – both students at the University and members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity (SAE), The Daily Texan reported.
Three days after the incident, Young appealed to his administration to take disciplinary action against the students involved but has yet to receive any update on that process. Young said that he is growing frustrated with his university.
“Thirty-five days later, and the process is still going on,” Young said to The Daily Texan. “Our university, that I love, that I’m about to graduate from, is telling me it’s going to take up to 75 days — at the most — for them to be able to do something.”
