Both squash teams will travel to New Haven, Conn., this weekend for a tournament against Yale and Bates.
The trip to the Bulldogs’ home courts will be the second this year for the Quakers. In November, Yale hosted the annual Ivy Scrimmages at which both Bulldogs teams finished first.
Penn is coming off a match against Franklin & Marshall that ended disappointingly for the men — F&M; won eight individual matches to the Quakers’ one — and in a victorious sweep for the women.
The Penn ladies, now undefeated, will look to continue their winning streak by upsetting Yale.
Captaining the Bulldogs’ women’s team is senior Logan Greer, who attended nearby Episcopal Academy with Penn’s captain and sole upperclassman, Annie Madeira.
Greer finished last season ranked fourth nationally; Madeira 40th.
The Quaker men, meanwhile, are ranked ninth by the College Squash Association, trailing the Bulldogs by seven spots.
Saturday will also mark a homecoming for newly acquired assistant coach Amy Gross, who won three national championships in her Yale career.
Both teams will continue their play into Sunday, when they will face Brown in Providence, R.I.
