A person like Van Dyke needs no artificial stimulant to prepare for an Ivy League matchup. She feeds off the pressure. But even for a tenured coach with her track record and experience, a little pre-match anxiety can show up every once in awhile.

After conceding four goals to both Villanova and Dartmouth during a three-game losing skid, Penn men’s soccer righted the ship on Saturday against Yale. The Quakers (4-4-5, 2-2 Ivy) blanked the Bulldogs (2-7-2, 1-2-1 Ivy) by a score of 3-0 on goals from Dami Omitaomu, Gideon Metrikin and Alec Neumann.

It was a good weekend on the field for Penn Athletics, and that's translating to hardware off the field as the Quakers enter the week. On Monday, football's Justin Watson was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, while men's soccer's Dami Omitaomu won City Six Rookie of the Week honors.

Sophomore Gideon Mitrikin logged his first career goal for Penn men's soccer on Saturday, putting the Quakers up 2-0 in what would end up a 3-0 shutout at Yale.

Junior libero Michelle Pereira led the defense for Penn volleyball with 13 digs on Friday, but she couldn't stop the Princeton attack as the Tigers took the match in straight sets.

Volleyball is all about working in system to get opponents out of system. For Penn volleyball, new changes to their system had mixed reviews against an unflappable Princeton squad. On Friday evening, Penn lost a tough straight-set match to Ivy League-leading Princeton.

Midfield play will be a point of emphasis for the Quakers in the upcoming match against Yale, as players such as junior midfielder Rachel Huang will be instrumental in generating attacks for the team.

Penn is locked in for its last crucial stretch of the season. Penn (9-4, 3-1 Ivy) is looking forward to the final week of Ivy League play, with upcoming matchups against Yale (5-8,1-3), Brown (6-6, 2-2), and Princeton (9-5, 4-0). Penn snapped its three game winning streak, with a tough double overtime loss to eighth nationally ranked Delaware 3-2 on Sunday.

Sophomore outside hitter Courtney Quinn has been one of bright spots in a tough season for the Quakers, as she leads the team in kills and is second in digs.

Penn volleyball may be a young team, but they've seen all they need to see. With one trip around the Ivy League complete, the Red and Blue are set to begin the rematches with now more familiar foes, starting with the Ancient Eight's best. On Friday night, Penn (8-11, 3-4 Ivy) will head to New Jersey to take on rival Princeton in their lone game this weekend.

After scoring the lone goal for Penn men's soccer against Dartmouth on Saturday, senior midfielder Matt Poplawski looks to lead the Quakers to a City Six title on Wednesday against Villanova.

Championship game. It might not be the most widely publicized title in collegiate sports, but under the radar, Penn men’s soccer is one win away from capturing its first City 6 championship since _____. The City 6, which consists of Penn, Drexel, La Salle, Saint Joseph’s, Temple, and Villanova, has been crowning a yearly champion in several sports since _____.

After scoring just two goals in an injury-ridden junior campaign for Penn men's soccer, senior captain Alec Neumann leads the Ivy League with seven goals in 2016.

The word “warrior”, if books and movies are to be believed, conjures the image of a battle-ready, iron-clad behemoth armed to the teeth. If you ask members of Penn men’s soccer, their more realistic version comes in the form of a 6’0 forward and Pennsylvania native named Alec Neumann. This reputation has been well-earned over the past four seasons of Quaker soccer, and Neumann has emerged as the team’s undisputed leader and central offensive cog in his final season.

Before US Open champions Mohammed El Shorbaghy for the men and Camille Serme for the women are presented with their trophies, they will wait for head coach of the Penn women’s squash team to call their name. For the past four years, Gilly Lane has made the trek next door to Drexel University to serve as an emcee for the yearly US Open of Squash tournament. Before every match, the emcee is responsible for introducing each of the players and giving a quick bio before getting the crowd pumped up for the game.
