Penn hasn’t won an Ivy title since 1988, and the Quakers’ success this year hasn’t come without practice and perseverance.

It was through Dr. Michael Platt that Leone learned about the neuroscience research Platt was doing as part of the Wharton Neuroscience Initiative.

Anyone who has watched the Red and Blue take the field this year will observe another element of the Major League game trickling down to Meiklejohn Stadium: the shift.

Goldner sits third in the nation in goals scored per game with 3.67; his total is 33. For context, Penn has scored 123 goals this season.

Here's a look at three impressive athletes who can make a big impact this weekend in their respective sports. 

After tallying 49 runs in a sweep against Dartmouth last weekend, the Quakers didn’t generate much offense against Monmouth on Wednesday at Meiklejohn Stadium. 

The No. 6 Quakers have now won six games in a row and are the only undefeated team in the Ivy League as they prepare to face Harvard on Saturday. 

Practicing at Bala Golf Club, the women’s team travels an approximate half hour every time they have an outdoor practice.

Both the men’s and the women’s tennis took on Harvard and Dartmouth, and of the four matches, the only victory for the Quakers was the women’s win against the Big Green.

Even though their Friday meet at Temple was cancelled due to weather, the Quakers took home a total of seven wins this weekend.

The women's team traveled to Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J. to compete in the Ivy League Invitational.

Thanks in part to the longest game in Ivy League history, in which he set an NCAA record for at-bats with 12, Larsen hit for Penn's first cycle since Jeff Gregorio did it for the Quakers in 2000. 

After lighting up the scoreboard against Saint Joseph's earlier in the week, Penn baseball tallied 49 runs in a three-game series sweep over Dartmouth. 

Over the weekend, Penn men’s and women’s golf traveled to New Jersey to play in the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club and Match Madness at Fox Hollow Golf Club, respectively. 

Penn men’s lacrosse overpowered Brown on the offensive end to win its sixth consecutive game by a score of 16-9.

Philip Esformes was convicted of 20 federal charges, including bribery, after being charged with 26 counts. With over $1.3 billion in fraudulent Medicare and Medicaid claims, Esformes’ trial marked the largest health care fraud case ever charged by the federal government.

Penn men’s and women’s basketball were well represented in the Big 5 awards for the 2018-2019 season, with a total of eight accolades.
