Students participating in the strike cited the cancellation of fall break, Penn’s failure to cancel classes on Election Day, and the police killing of Walter Wallace Jr. as causes of students' mental health struggles this semester.

The three voting sites nearest to Penn's campus — Houston Hall, ARCH, and Walnut Street West Library — have reported no lines since around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Although Pennsylvanians have been casting their ballots for over a month through early and mail-in voting, voters can head to the polls in person today.

These visits come after the president made three stops in Lehigh County, Lancaster County, and Blair County on Monday. 

The Oct. 23 decision marks a defeat for Trump’s reelection campaign and other Republicans, who challenged Pennsylvania officials alleging that matching signatures on ballots to those on voter rolls were necessary in preventing fraud.

Penn Dems estimated that over half of the mail-in ballots of students who registered to vote with on-campus addresses, but requested their ballots to be sent elsewhere, were misdelivered by the city.

Philadelphia's percentage of eligible voters is also the highest since 2004, because the city's population has fluctuated. According to a Billy Penn analysis of data from the Philadelphia Office of City Commissioners and the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 90% of all eligible residents are currently registered to vote.

While Sanders acknowledged his differing policy stances compared to Biden, his overall approach was to unite voters within the Democratic party and throughout the country, appealing to moderates and conservatives to vote for Biden in efforts to oust Trump.

In-person early voting began on Sept. 29 and will conclude on Oct. 27, coinciding with the last day to request a mail-in ballot.
