The University announced it will extend the pass/fail grading policy for undergraduates to the spring 2021 semester, as it prepares for undergraduates to live in on-campus housing and resume more in-person activities. 

The early decision acceptance rate for the Class of 2025 marks a 4.7 percentage point decrease from last year. This year, 7,962 students applied through the University's early decision program, a 23% increase from last year's 6,453 applicants.

Penn's latest sustainability report for fiscal year 2020 highlights a sizable reduction in carbon emissions and waste generation — much of which is due to the pandemic.

The announcement comes amid a fierce student backlash over a lack of breaks during the 2020/21 academic year, which has seen fall break canceled in addition to a shortened spring break.

Penn's outgoing Board of Trustees chair and top Comcast executive David L. Cohen could be named the nation's next ambassador to the United Kingdom, according to a new report from Politico. 

In an interview with The Daily Pennsylvanian, Bok, the current vice chair of the board, spoke about the University’s plans to reopen in the spring and refused to budge on students' calls to divest from fossil fuels and make Payment in Lieu of Taxes. 

Bok, who is chairman and CEO of independent investment bank Greenhill & Co., Inc., will succeed David L. Cohen, who has served as chair since November 2009.
