In light of the recent attack on contraceptives at Boston College, it's a good time to thank Penn's Student Health Services for supporting our sexual health. The Boston Globe reports that on March 15th, BC ordered that students stop holding "Safe Sites" for safe sex information.
So be thankful that Penn offers information to all students through Student Health Services. It may have seemed weird when your freshman hall's GA came knocking on your door with condoms (it probably was) but at least we can all bump n' grind safely now.

This year Fling ticket sales are getting a major upgrade. For public safety reasons, SPEC will no longer sell tickets in the long line we've grown to know and love. Tickets will now be available through a series of online flash sales.

Believe it or not, this isn't a photo of the Penn Band trying to recruit during NSO in 1952. This is actually a photo of a protest to the proposed extreme budget cuts in Penn’s School of Education that year. The Musical Education Student’s Association rallied in front of Eisenlohr Hall (then an academic building, now Amy G’s humble abode) on June 2nd 1952.

Watch your back: The Locust Hawk has been spotted yet again! Perhaps Countess grew tired of stalking the pre-frosh tours, because this picture shows her lurking behind AXP. With a fiery look in her eyes and a stance that would scare the hula skirt off this leprechaun, she awaits the call to swoop. Is anywhere safe?

Another Thursday, another edition of Locust Flaikus! Now that spring break is over (sigh), all the performance groups are now competing for you attendance at their spring shows. Actually, every student group seems to have something they want you to go to. Seriously, you might have to start skipping class to avoid flyers.

So we know where everyone went for spring break, but only God knows what everyone was doing. Oh wait, so do we. Thanks to our generation's BFF status with social media and over-sharing, a quick glance at Facebook gave us a nice idea of what our fellow Quakers were up to. See who made the cut!

What do you call those non-Jewish residents of the Main Line again? You know, with the yachts and the non-Kosher diets? Thanks to this guy on the right, E. Digby Baltzell (Class of 1940), we call 'em WASPs.

Meet the 1934 Freshman class of Penn's College of Liberal Arts. Founded in 1931, the school was the first at Penn to accept women for a four-year undergraduate degree. Only four years later, the School of Nursing opened as well. We're pretty sure that Valentine's Days at Penn in the 1930s were much steamier than in the previous centuries!

In the aftermath of the recent failed ID compliance check at Blarney, the bar is under investigation. Underage bar-hoppers might want to hit the frats up for a little while. Get the full story from the DP here.

The Nets would like to invite "UPenn Alumni" (get hip and drop the "U," Brooklyn) to their game against the Sixers! And also Wharton alumni, because the two groups are totally different. The event will include a networking component and several UPenn Alumni speakers (because apparently all of the awesome Wharton alumni speakers were too busy to attend). So get your tickets now, UPenn Alumni! You don't want to miss getting to meet up with people from that one-building school next to yours!

Did we catch you by surprise? That's right, all you student groups! Your flyers are now subject to critical review. It's time to design to impress. This week's winner is SPEC and Jazz & Grooves for their flyer about tonight's concert at PiLam. Look at those colors! Not to mention, it features half of this guy's face! Pretty schnazzy, eh? Don't be too sad, the competition will continue next week (looking at you, Mask and Wig. You have several more chances to win (maybe)). Want to impress us? We like humor and pretty colors.

Introducing "Locust Flaikus", the horribly-named feature that brings both Locust flyers and haikus together as one. It's creative, we know.
