Biba Is Taking Its Good Old Time – We thought Biba was opening last week, but a source tells us that (surprise, surprise) the contractors are taking longer than expected to finish construction, and we'll be lucky to see it open in two weeks. Listen, we're not mad–just disappointed.

Sugar Philly Phanatics – Apparently the Sugar Philly truck is going to be on TV! Facebook says that Food Network Canada will be filming for some mysterious future show from 12-3pm tomorrow at the truck's location on 38th & Sansom. Fingers crossed for free samples.

It's The Flea's Knees

(09/10/10 8:23pm)

Tomorrow is the Fairmount Flea Market! If you've never explored one of Philly's giant flea markets before, now's the time to pull out your obscure shopping list of tchotchkes and trinkets and get browsing. Spookily surrounding the Eastern State Penitentiary (haunted house, anyone?), more than 200 vendors will be selling vintage clothes and furniture alongside their lifetime collections of teacups, keychains or Civil War memorabilia–plus anything else you might discover if you dig a little.

Naked Chocolate Is Naked No More

(09/09/10 2:05pm)

Naked Chocolate is changing ownership and changing its name! Taking a hint from Saxby's and Claudia Cohen Hall, the new Artisserie Chocolate Café doesn't appear to be drastically different from its predecessor. However, Meal Ticket reports that the new owner, Eli Mordechai, will be introducing more savory options to the chocolaty menu. Is this the foodie equivalent of putting some clothes on?

Shakespeare in Clark Park

(07/29/10 9:14pm)

If you're like us, and your summer has been embarrassingly lacking in fairies and donkey costumes, you might want to get your fix in Clark Park this week watching Shakespeare in Clark Park's A Midsummer Night's Dream. This is the 5th year this merry band of thespians have been doing their thing in the bowl of the park, and the best part is, you don't have to shell out any mo' ducats than you want to (meaning: aside from optional donations, this event is FREE)!

Cupcake It Till You Make It

(06/25/10 2:50pm)

When we first heard there was going to be a cupcake truck in Philly, our bellies were all aflutter with excitement and we began planning our class schedule around Buttercream's West Philly appearances. But after a year of satisfied sweet teeth, could there be a new cupcake sheriff in town? Get ready to welcome the wheels of not one, but two new cupcake trucks: Call Me Cupcake and Sweetbox.

Phil 'Er Up! Philly Beer Week 2010

(06/03/10 2:00pm)

Philadelphia is apparently "America's Best Beer-Drinking City." Though this makes us wonder about the criteria, as well as what America's Worst Beer-Drinking City is, Philly will live up to its potentially arbitrary name from June 4-13 with the annual Philly Beer Week. This event, the largest of its kind, will celebrate beer culture with all sorts of revelry across the city, ranging from free tastings of local brews to prix-fixe menus of the classic beer-food combination to community-friendly outdoor parties and festivities.

The Radian's Best Idea Since Waffle Breakfast?

(05/22/10 5:19pm)

Summer's here, kids, which for us Philadelphians means achieving that balance of complaining about the humidity while still finding any excuse to go outside. Usually the best way to lure us out of the AC is something involving food, be it backyard BBQs, water ice, or that creepy irritating charming little tune of the ice cream truck that will remain in our head for days afterward.

The Gang Makes The Bar A Reality

(05/18/10 3:19pm)

Plenty of television shows try to imitate reality, but wouldn't it be way neater if the shows we really love could come to life instead? And furthermore, what better qualifications do you need for a job than having played the part on TV? The Gang from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is totally picking up what we're putting down with this idea, as Mac and Sweet Dee (or, in an alternate universe, husband and wife duo Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson) have decided to go ahead and open up a real live Philly bar.
