It’s not Thanksgiving for another six months, but I have a lot to be grateful for as I get ready to graduate from Penn. So instead of using this space to try to impart some random lesson on younger students at this school that no one will listen to anyway, here’s a sappy, non-exhaustive list of The Daily Pennsylvanian Sports things that I’m thankful for as my four years here come to a close.

It’s January, which means we’re in the heart of the college basketball season. It isn’t a normal season, of course, with the COVID-19 pandemic still raging across the country. Thirty-one of the 32 Division I conferences are currently competing, however, with the Ivy League the lone exception.

NEWARK, Del. — The game came down to one play. With 2:24 left in the fourth quarter, Penn football lined up from the Delaware two-yard line. If the Quakers could find the end zone, they would lead 29-28, giving a defense that had just come up with a big stop a chance to seal the win. If they failed, the Blue Hens would get the ball back, needing only one first down to ice the game.
