Penn gymnastics is on the rise. This year, the team earned its highest National Qualifying Score ever, picking up wins at the Ivy Classic and the Gymnastics East Conference Championships along the way. For one gymnast, the season was capped off with an even sweeter title: Gymnast of the Year.

Gymnastics freshman Marissa Lassiter from Waldorf, Md. is a clear choice to be this year's Women’s Rookie of the Year. Lassiter dominated most competitions from the moment she stepped foot on campus, and played a key role on a Quaker team that earned numerous first place finishes — en route to its second consecutive Gymnastics East Conference Championship last month.

Last weekend at Yale, senior defender Izzy Rohr had a dominant performance, with four ground balls and five caused turnovers. Even in her first season with significant playing time, outings like this are routine for the senior from Malvern, Pa., who knows what it takes to perform at her peak.

Penn gymnastics senior McCaleigh Marr may be known for her quality on the balance beam, but her favorite event is the uneven bars. Though her journey has had its ups and downs, McCaleigh has found her swing in life, and it’s landing her at the University of Michigan in the fall.
