West Philadelphia Protests Over Walter Wallace Jr. Continue Into Halloween

On Saturday, nearly a week after the fatal police shooting of Walter Wallace Jr., hundreds of demonstrators packed the streets of West Philadelphia to demand justice. After three nights of calm following two nights of unrest, the gathering remained peaceful, prompting cheers and chants from the nearly 500 protesters in attendance.



Philadelphia Police Shooting Prompts Heated Protests

Two police officers shot and killed a 27-year-old Black man in West Philadelphia on Monday afternoon, leading to protests near Penn's campus on Monday evening. At around 12:30 p.m., police officers were seen rushing toward protesters around 52nd and Walnut Streets. Video by Sage Levine













Philly Queer March For Black Lives Celebrates Intersectionality

Over 500 people gathered in LOVE Park on Sunday afternoon for the Philly Queer March for Black Lives. The event was just as much a celebration of Black transgender women as it was a continuation of weeks of Philadelphia protests against ongoing racial injustice.



Day 8 of Philadelphia Protests Concludes With Dance Circle

As protesters dispersed from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, a dance circle of dozens of adults, families, and small children began.
