The Wharton School recently launched a podcast series on the real-world impact of artificial intelligence on business.
Set for biweekly releases on Thursdays, The Where AI Works podcast is hosted by a different Wharton faculty member each season and features industry experts discussing the role of AI across diverse industries. The podcast series discuss academic research and case studies on AI’s role in business.
Where AI Works aims to “cut through the noise, uncover new perspectives, and deliver actionable insights for business leaders,” according to Co-Director of Wharton Human-AI Research and season one host Kartik Hosanagar. The podcast delves into all things AI-related and provides listeners with insights, strategies, and advice on how to adapt to AI’s unique roles in big companies.
From Ajay Anand of Johnson & Johnson on how AI is transforming operations to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer of Accenture Jill Kramer on how Agentic AI is reshaping marketing, the podcast features high-impact thinkers discussing crossovers between AI and various niches.
In the second episode of season two, “AI: The Operating System for Modern Healthcare,” the CEO of AIDOC — an AI company that develops technology and software to help doctors analyze medical scans — Elad Walach emphasizes the importance of understanding AI and its influence on companies and the business world.
“Understanding AI’s role in shaping industries is crucial for tomorrow’s leaders,” Walach said. “If you’re not paying attention to where the technology is going, you risk falling behind.”
Hosanagar highlighted the importance of AI-relevant skills and foundations as the technology bleeds into disciplines across industries. The podcast writers and hosts hope listeners learn how to think critically about issues regarding AI and take away insights that help them “stay competitive in a world of rapid change.”
Wharton hosts several podcasts regarding all sectors of business, finance, and marketing, which are intended to supplement new concentrations and majors regarding AI for students to become “more than just AI users,” Operations, Information, and Decisions professor and Wharton Human-AI Research Co-Director Prasanna Tambe said.
According to Tambe, the podcast’s episodes offer a unique bridge between classrooms and current industries, inspiring listeners to become the next “leaders and innovators who can shape how AI is used in companies.”
