Even while being outshot 21-9 by the Wildcats, the Quakers held onto a lead that ‘Nova cut to one with less than five minutes left.

2. A 3-2 comeback win at Yale shows Fink how far program had come

“I think beating Yale was a big thing for us,” Fink told the DP last week. “My first year when we went up to Yale, I think we lost 10-0. And then to go to Yale my third year and win and play pretty well, that was a pretty big moment for the program.”

The win on Oct. 20 marked Penn’s seventh of the season, at that time guaranteeing the Quakers their highest single-season win total since 2007, when Penn went 8-9 overall.

1. Quakers kiss Franklin Field goodbye — and maybe good riddance…

With a dramatic 2-1 overtime victory over Brown on Oct. 28. Then-junior Julie Tahan clinched the win with a rebound shot off of Penn’s third penalty corner of the extra period. The triumph guaranteed Penn’s first winning season since 2006. “The last game at Franklin was exciting and nerve-wracking,” Tahan told the DP last week. “Coming out with a win like that was a great memory.”
