The preliminary yield for the class of 2013 is 63 percent - the same as last year - according to Dean of Admission Eric Furda.

This statistic, however, is down from 66 percent in 2007.

Penn enrolled 19 more students than expected, according to an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The incoming class is the strongest in Penn's history, with the average SAT increasing by 20 points.

The class of 2013 is 44 percent "multicultural" - up from 40 percent last year - and 13 percent international - the same as last year.

Students hail from 71 different countries and 49 states - all but Alaska.

Furda said there will be "some" waitlist activity, which will slightly alter the 63-percent figure.

Other Ivy League institutions, including Harvard University and Yale University, also saw little or no change in their preliminary yield.
