Several days from now, millions of Americans will participate in one of the nation's greatest traditions: midterm elections.
With all of the focus on the big day, we thought now would be an appropriate time to jump on the political bandwagon.
As a matter of fact, it seems our friends over in New Jersey have some pretty big races going on now.
Mercer County, home of Princeton University, is part of the oddly shaped 12th Congressional District. The district is particularly unique. Demographically, it is only 72 percent white, despite the statistical influence of Princeton, which comes in at 119 percent white.
In terms of median income, the $70K figure is impressive, and it's probably even higher when you subtract the expenditures on brandy and cocaine.
Surprisingly, though, it seems that Democrat Rush Holt is considered a shoo-in to win reelection. Last we checked, Princeton University wasn't exactly considered a bastion of progressive thought (just ask Justice Samuel Alito '72).
Before we vote, though, we wanted to find Holt's stance on one critical issue: the score of tomorrow's game. So we gave him a call to find out his platform on this question.
Unfortunately, the number we thought was his office turned out to be his mother's house. Mrs. Holt seems like an extremely nice woman, but was waffling quite a bit on the issue, and attempted to defer the decision to her son.
If these tendencies to flip-flop run in the family, well, he's lost our vote.
