The Upper Quadrangle and Stouffer College House were evacuated Thursday night because of a bomb scare, though there turned out to be no threat.

At about 7 p.m., SEPTA police investigated a suspicious package on Woodland Walk outside of the 37th Street trolley station. A bomb-sniffing dog was brought in, and Penn Police evacuated the Upper Quad and Spruce Street until about 8:20, when the package was X-rayed by the Philadelphia Bomb Squad. It was determined to be safe. Spruce Street was also cleared from 37th to 38th streets.

There were no injuries reported, and Division of Public Safety officials described the evacuation as "orderly."
