Penn Police officials said that a woman in the same building witnessed a man attempting to turn her doorknob on the same day but did not call the police at the time.

She described him as a "very chubby-to-obese" black man between the ages of 18 and 30. He is reportedly between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium-to-dark complexion and was wearing blue clothing and carrying a blue backpack. Police don't know if the man described committed the burglary but are looking to question him.

All three burglaries occurred in apartments overseen by local property manager Campus Apartments. Penn Police investigated the company's employees last semester for a string of December robberies in buildings managed by the company.

Penn Police Deputy Chief of Investigations Mike Morrin wouldn't speculate as to whether these recent thefts could be related, but he said that police officials are checking to see who had access to the apartments.

All information was obtained from the University Police logbook.
