SAS e-mail server down Wednesday Some students have continued to have problems with their Internet servers, possibly due to a virus-like worm that infected thousands of servers worldwide last Saturday. The School of Arts and Sciences Webmail server was not functioning for a period of time Wednesday evening, but it is not known whether this was a direct effect of the worm, according to Engineering senior and Harnwell College House Computing Manager Hank Chang. Students have also reported problems with their computers' printing systems, according to Engineering sophomore and Hill College House Information Technology Manager Neal Wojdowski. However, aside from printing problems, the effects of the worm seem to have subsided in Hill, Wojdowski added. On Saturday, two of the core PennNet routers experienced problems beginning at about 12:30 a.m. The University's Information Systems and Computing began receiving complaints at approximately 9 a.m., including reports of 11 machines with problems. The PennNet routing core system had been stabilized and the majority of service had been restored by late Saturday night. -- Josh Gordon
