In a highly anticipated game, the Penn football team (6-0 Ivy League) demolished host-Princeton (4-2) on Saturday afternoon in New Jersey.

The Quakers wasted no time getting started. Just over five minutes into the game, Penn's Travis Belden sacked Princeton quarterback Matt Verbit in the Tigers' endzone for a safety. It was the first time since Penn's game against Holy Cross last season that the Quakers recorded a safety.

Soon thereafter, the scoring began. With five minutes to go in the first qurater, Penn running back Mike Recchiuti scored his first collegiate touchdown with a one-yard run into the endzone, putting Penn up 9-0.

Penn would head into the lockerroom at halftime with a 23-0 lead, thanks to one touchdown run from Faulk and another from Recchiuti. Princeton finished the half with 29 total offensive yards on 26 plays.

In the second half, Penn continued to pull away from the Tigers, scoring three more touchdowns in all. With 7:28 to go in the third quarter, Penn senior defensive back Fred Plaza intercepted a Verbit pass and returned the ball 30 yards and into the endzone. Mitchell completed 29 of 45 passes for 248 passing yards.

Next weekend the Ivy League's two undefeated teams -- Penn and Harvard -- will square off at Franklin Field.
