Aggravated Assault
* May 28 -- A security guard at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, located at 34th Street and Civic Center Boulevard, reported that at about 12:15 a.m. a man approached him and began a verbal argument. The alleged assailant then left, while the guard went inside the hospital. The assailant returned with two hammers and started swinging them towards the security guard and several other guards on duty. No one was injured and 40-year-old Tyrone Taylor was arrested.
Robbery
* May 28 -- A woman who is affiliated with the University reported that at about 11:15 p.m., three males approached her from behind while she was walking on the 300 block of South 41st Street. The men, who were not armed, demanded that the woman give them everything she had. The men then took her purse, which contained $100 in cash, a cellular phone, a checkbook and several credit cards.
Burglary
* May 30 -- A male University student reported that between 9 a.m. and about 6:20 p.m., 200 compact disks, three compact disk cases, and $150 in cash -- together valued at $3,000 -- were taken from his residence on the 4000 block of Chancellor Street. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.
Theft
* May 29 -- A female University staff member reported that she parked her vehicle in the Presbyterian Medical Center Parking garage, located at 39th and Market streets. When she returned to the vehicle at 1:40 p.m., the front left window had been broken, and a laptop computer, a printer and a computer case were missing. The items were together valued at $4,3'0.
* May 26 -- A male University student reported that on May 25 at 3 p.m., he left his bicycle unsecured and unattended in the common area of his residence on the 3900 block of Baltimore Avenue. When he returned the next day at 10 a.m., the bike, valued at $500, was missing.
