Football names new offensive coordinator The Athletic Department announced yesteday that it has hired Andy Coen as its offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, filling the void left by Chuck Piore when he took the head coaching job at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., in December. Coen comes to Penn from Lehigh, where he has held similar duties since 1994. "We are very fortunate to have someone of Andy's caliber join our staff," Bagnoli said in a statement. "He is a very good line coach and he has enjoyed tremendous success as coach of Lehigh's offense the last few years." Of late, Lehigh's offense has been one of the finest in Division I-AA. Last year, the Engineers were 10-2 and lost to Hofstra in the first round of the NCAA playoffs. In 1998, Lehigh set a school record with 12 wins and became the first non-scholarship school to win an NCAA playoff I-AA football game. Before joining the Lehigh staff, Coen served as coach for four seasons at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and also held jobs at Minnesota, James Madison and Widener. -- Eric Dash M. Hoops offers fans a second opportunity For any Penn men's basketball fans who were snowed out of attending Tuesday's game against Drexel, there is now a second chance to catch the Quakers in action. Yesterday, the Penn Athletic Deprtment announced that anyone who was not able to attend Tuesday's game due to the snow storm will be able to redeem unripped tickets for tickets of equal value to the Quakers' game against Cornell on February 18. On Tuesday, the Red and Blue defeated the Dragons 54-46, as Geoff Owens grabbed 13 rebounds and registered four blocks. The night was a milestone for guard Matt Langel, who scored his 1,000th career point against the Dragons. Anyone who missed the Drexel game because of snow will be able to redeem his or her ticket at the Penn Athletic Ticket Office. -- Easy Rider and Dog Pound
