W. Soccer resumes Ivy schedule in N.Y. A win at Columbia will be important in the Quakers' quest for their first Ivy League title. With an overall record of 7-2-1 and a 2-1 Ivy mark, the Quakers stand in third place in the league behind Harvard and Princeton. After defeating Dartmouth and Cornell early in the season, the Quakers lost 2-1 in overtime to Harvard on October 2. While Columbia only has an 0-2-1 Ivy record, it cannot be assumed the Quakers will roll past the Lions. Columbia is 7-3-1 overall and is riding a three-game winning streak, beating Colgate, UAB and Mississippi State. More importantly, though, the Lions did not allow any goals in those three games. Goalies Ali Ahern and Caroline Anderson have now combined to shut out the opposition for 325 minutes and have only allowed one goal in the past 513 minutes. The Lions' defense may cause problems for Penn but in recent games, the Quakers have upped their offensive output. Kelli Toland, Heather Taylor and Jill Callaghan all scored in Penn's 3-0 win over Stony Brook on Monday. Also, while Columbia has earned three straight shutouts, Penn freshman goalie Katherine Hunt will be looking for her third consecutive shutout and sixth of the season tomorrow. -- Rick Haggerty
