U. Police investigate two area robberies According to police, the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, made off with $4,500 from a credit union within one of Drexel's student center buildings at 3210 Chestnut Street. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male between the ages of 20 and 30. He was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and white or beige pants at the time of the robbery. University Police are also investigating an unrelated theft that occurred around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night at Baskin Robbins, located at 3925 Walnut Street. According to police, a male store employee reported that an unknown man entered the store, and while nobody was looking stole $1,500 from the cash register. The suspect was described as a black male, 6'1" with a dark complexion, short cropped hair and short facial hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt at the time of the theft. He allegedly ran west on Walnut Street after taking the money. University Police detectives are currently investigating the incident, which was recorded on a surveillance video within the ice cream shop. -- Rod Kurtz
