Offensive coordinator Chuck Priore has been elevated to assistant head coach. In his expanded role, Priore, who has served as Penn's offensive coordinator for seven seasons, will take on more administrative duties. The team also announced the arrival of Steve Downs, formerly the running backs coach at Jacksonville University, as an offensive assistant. After a year of coaching the tight ends, Karl Miran will move over to coach Penn's running backs. These changes come two weeks after Penn announced that head coach Al Bagnoli would be assuming the defensive coordinator responsibilities as well, filling the gap left by Mike Toop, departed for UConn. Penn also announced in February that Northern Arizona defensive line coach Cliff Schwenke would serve as the team's new linebackers coach and Mark Chmielinski would return to his role as Quakers secondary coach after four years coaching running backs. -- E.M.
