Rader has not practiced all week on doctor's advice in hopes of keeping the wound free of infection. Rader said he will practice for the first time on Friday at which point he will be evaluated by the team doctor. While Rader said he is "optimistic" that he will be able to play Saturday, he will have to wait for doctor's clearance. To this point, the injury has made Penn's signal caller doubtful as the starter against Columbia, but he says he will start under center if he is able to gain clearance. Rader led the Penn offense to its most dominant showing of the year before leaving in the third quarter. The Quakers scored 34 points on a 19-for-25 passing performance (256 yards, 3 touchdowns) by Rader. After he left the game Fordham scored 17 unanswered points, and the Penn offense turned to Jim Finn to run out the clock. -- Kent Malmros
