M. Tennis plays ECACs, No. 1 tourney of the fall The top 16 teams in the region will be competing in this tournament, which will consist of both singles and doubles. Each team will receive a rank in the draw. Miller expects Penn to be eighth or ninth. The coach, however, is quick to note that these are the strongest 16 teams he's ever seen at this tournament. "If the 16 seed ends up playing a nine seed in the second round, that's going to be a dogfight, whereas, usually, the nine would kill the 16," Miller says. The ECAC Championship is the third of the six fall season competitions, and the only team match. For every two match wins, the team will receive one point. Last season, the Quakers were eliminated by Harvard, 6-1, in the semifinals. Although Miller believes that the "main tennis season is the spring, this tournament is a good way to see where you stand early." -- Scott Taffet F. Hockey visits Harvard The Penn field hockey returns to Ivy League action tomorrow afternoon in Cambridge, Mass., as the Quakers meet Harvard. Penn (5-1, 1-1 Ivy League) has played consecutive overtime games. The Red and Blue triumphed 4-3 over Cornell last Friday and then defeated Ursinus 1-0 on a Michele Canuso-Bedesem score. -- Jordan Smith
