Theft Theft · February 1 -- An employee of the Burger King restaurant in Houston Hall reported that her personal handgun was stolen from a bag left unattended in an employees-only area. The second incident took place at 42nd and Osage streets at approximately 11:30 p.m. A student reported that a male with a simulated weapon told him to hand over all of his money or he would "put two bullets" into him. No weapon was shown, and the suspect escaped with $10 in cash. The suspect matched the description of the suspect in the first robbery. Theft from Auto · February 1 -- In two separate incidents, cars were reportedly broken into at the Children's Seashore House of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Both incidents occurred between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. In the first incident, a bag of tools valued at $400 was reported stolen from a car parked in the loading dock. In the second incident, assorted tools were reported stolen from a burgundy 1989 Ford pickup truck. · January 31 -- A radar detector valued at $120 was stolen at approximately 4 p.m. from a Ford parked at 40th and Chestnut streets. The perpetrator was apprehended and the property recovered. Retail Theft ·February 1 -- An employee of the Wawa convenience store at 37th and Spruce streets reported that a male left the store with 25 stolen cans of tuna fish, valued at $25. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Philadelphia Police department's Southwest Detective bureau for questioning. The merchandise was recovered.
