He acknowledged, though, that the elimination of the RA meal plan was "one out of approximately a dozen items" suggested as a way to cut costs if a "catastrophic situation" were to occur. According to Residential Living Director Gigi Simeone, the rumor is "not true." "No decisions have been made," she said. "I wouldn't even say that discussion has occurred at all." Moneta added that he "cannot believe that this has become an issue." "The rumor mills are working overtime," Moneta said. Wharton junior and Quadrangle RA Jonathan Brightbill said he was extremely concerned about the proposal, explaining that in a recent meeting with Zoila Airall, associate director of staff and programming for Residential Living, Airall seemed in favor of the plan. "I can't speak for all the RAs, but I believe they would be diabolically opposed to this," he added. But Moneta stressed that Brightbill and the other RAs have no reason to be concerned, explaining that many of the ideas the budget review comes up with are merely precautions and are rarely implemented. -- Jessica Boar UTV13 elects new board UTV13, the University's student-run television station, has elected its officers for 1996, according to outgoing President and General Manager Heather Dorf, a College senior. The president and general manager of the new board will be College junior Lisa Raphaeli. College freshman Ted Mann will serve as vice president of Business Administration for the station. "I know they'll do an exceptional job," Dorf said. "The station is in excellent hands for the future." She added that the outgoing board spent eight hours last Friday night deciding on the new officers for this year, through a combined interview and election process by the 1995 board. "The upper management positions go through two weeks of intense training," Dorf explained. "I'll stay around for a couple of weeks, and gradually phase myself out." The outgoing board also elected Wharton junior Andrew Barkan as vice president of Production and Programming and Wharton junior Jeff Greenhouse as vice president of Broadcast Operations. The director of Personnel will be College junior Holly White and the director of Publicity and Promotion will be College sophomore Nick Zinn. College sophomore Jess McGrath was elected news director and College junior Jason Vinikoor was elected sports director. -- Doree Shafrir
