Now, comesee them surpass it._____________________ It's something that shouldn't be missed. No, it's not the return of Florence Henderson to television. For the first time since 1990, and for the first real time since 1989, the football team has won at least half of its games this season. Technically, the last time this happened was after a first game win in 1990 that had a one win-zero loss record, but it all went downhill from there. Right now we're at two wins and one loss. Two out of three ain't bad, at least for this team. While the season is only three weeks old, these recent accomplishments are nothing to laugh at. (That's where Florence Henderson comes in.) As the Quakers take on William & Mary tomorrow, their two wins so far this season will match the entire number of wins they captured all last season. For anyone with even a smidgen of school pride, missing tomorrow's contest would be a huge mistake. And let's face it, it's not often there's something exciting to do on a Saturday afternoon in the fall. Now there is. Tomorrow's game will not be the easiest for Penn -- William & Mary is ranked 10th in the nation among Division I-AA schools -- it's still important to show the Quakers that the Penn community appreciates their efforts to improve. To have a large crowd in attendance each and every Saturday that Franklin Field is graced with the Quakers' presence would be the perfect way to relay that message. Admission is free to anyone with a PENNCard, and even the most football-illiterate can take part in the Penn cheering, toast throwing, "Hang Jeff Davis"-singing, opponent-tauting, eating and drinking, and then drinking some more. Of course, the Quaker, the cheerleaders and the band will be there to help. Those with an appreciation for football's finer points can also marvel at the entirely new system installed by first-year head coach Al Bagnoli. Fans who make the trek down to 33rd and South will get the pleasure of seeing an innovative and exciting offense, as well as a defense which leads the Ivy League. In particular, College senior Rob Sims once again makes all other Ivy punters appear weak. The kicking game, something to laugh at in previous years, has become a potent weapon behind the powerful foot of junior Andy Glockner. So, if you had plans, cancel them. If you're taking the GREs, what better way to unwind than to see the Quakers in action at historic Franklin Field. If it rains, bring an umbrella. If you see Florence Henderson, tell her to come too. And remember the toast. Pack a lunch. Make a day of it. We'll see you there.
