An unbelievably stupid and naive statement by two Penn freshmen in their column "The Girl Who Cried Rape" cries out for a response from some male who believes that your thinking should be done with your big head, not you little one. "As two sexually active males," they write, "we're scared shitless. Not about syphilis, or having kids, or even AIDS. We're afraid of raping someone." Do Jason Seiden and Bradon Fogel mean that the world would be a happier place for them if they weren't accountable for understanding the differences between consensual and coercive sexual intercourse? Fogel and Seiden want sex, and just sex. They are insensitive about what their partners might want, about ordinary respectful human interaction and about the personal and legal consequences of violence and coercion. Mike Tyson, the subject of their sympathies, is only just learning about these things. My advice to Fogel and Seiden: take a little responsibility for you actions, boys. Your ignorance is dangerous to others, and to yourselves. KEITH WAILOO Graduate Student College of Arts and Sciences
