College sophomore Jason Colodne presented the check at the Fall Harvest Dinner, an NF charity benefit held last Thursday in New York City. Colodne's sister has the disease, which causes tumors to grow on nerves throught the body. It is the most common genetic neurological disease caused by a single gene and afflicts approximatly 100,000 Americans, Colodne said. "I think that community service and charity is important to start with, and I would expect friends and community members to help us out for a good cause," he said. -- Robert Botel
