Weyrich, who is running for an at-large position on City Council, said last night he led a movement requesting that SEPTA allow passengers to take full-size bicycles on commuter trains. Such a practice, Weyrich said, would allow city residents, such as University students, access to country areas for recreational biking. Weyrich stressed the importance of activism to effect positive change. "There are differences waiting to be made and for people to make them," Weyrich said. Last spring, Weyrich led a demonstration in front of The Philadelphia Inquirer, persuading the newspaper to use more recycled newspaper. Weyrich will speak tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Houston Hall Auditorium. -- Adam Levine
