Gross, a College junior, said yesterday that the group will sponsor a series of non-profit events to show support for soldiers in the Middle East, including blood drives, letter writing campaigns, and volunteering in child care centers on local military bases. "It's a humanitarian effort to support the troops in the Gulf and their families," Gross said. He added that "regardless of amount of time" people have to volunteer, "they should show up." Gross said that other group activities will include a candlelight vigil and seminars "to keep people informed" on events in the Middle East, possibly including an official from the Selective Service to talk about the chance of a draft. -- Peter Spiegel
