Kochiyama, a Japanese-American woman, spent time in an Arkansas concentration camp during World War II and was active in the Civil Rights Movement and the Anti-Vietnam War Movement during the 1960s, according to Ellen Somekawa, program assistant for the Center. Somekawa said yesterday that the speech will center on the history of the Asian-American movement. "I think it will be inspiring for students to listen to someone who's been active throughout their life," Somekawa said. -- Laura Santini
