This new incident won't be helping fraternities in the public eye.
The University of Florida chapter of Zeta Beta Tau is currently being investigated for spitting on veterans and urinating on American flags.
Florida's ZBT was in Panama City for its spring formal, the same location as a Warrior Beach Retreat going on at the time. The fraternity has been accused of not only spitting on the wounded veterans present but also their service dogs, while also taking their American flags.
Florida President W. Kent Fuchs issued an apology to the veterans via email.
“I want to make clear that I am deeply sorry for the affront that our students may have caused,” Fuchs wrote in the email. “I want to assure you that it is not representative of our students or our university, and we will make every effort to learn more, take appropriate action and prevent similar incidents from occurring again.”
