Last night, students flocked to The Roxxy in downtown Philadelphia to attend Alpha Chi Omega’s annual Big Man on Campus.
The charity event, a campus favorite, includes separate junior and senior competitions. This year, four juniors and 11 seniors were given the opportunity to display their talents in swimsuit and dance routine contests.
AXO Philanthropy Chair and College junior Caroline O’Connor announced the winners: College senior Jason Maccabee as second runner-up, College senior Andrew Musser as first runner-up and finally, College senior Trevor Cassidy as BMOC.
MC’s Wharton fifth-year senior PJ Hobson — last year’s BMOC — and Nursing senior and AXO member Kat Dowling introduced each semi-clothed contestant during the swimsuit portion. Afterwards, the contestants performed their choreographed routines, often including friends, girlfriends and AXO members.
College senior Ben Whitenack danced to Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get it On,” while College senior and Pennchants member Andrew Green donned a bedazzled vest and serenaded the crowd with the Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody.”
Maccabee had opted for a jungle-themed routine, and Ben Slocum — also in the College — used Britney Spears’ infamous VMA performance for inspiration by donning a blonde wig and dancing to popular favorites.
Two-time Ivy League football champion and College senior Tosan Eyetsemitan stormed the stage dressed in his jersey and surrounded by AXO cheerleaders.
College and Engineering junior Noah Frick was crowned winner of the junior competition early on in the evening — with College junior Jeff McGarry taking second runner-up — paving the way for the show’s main attraction, the senior contest.
All event proceeds from the event were donated to the charity Women Against Abuse.
