Domenique Wilson, suspect in the home invasion and sexual assault at 44th and Spruce Streets in December 2008, rejected a plea bargain from the District Attorney’s office Wednesday at his pre-trial conference.
Another conference, intended for setting Wilson’s trial date if he pleads not guilty, is set for Feb. 3.
He is accused of holding two female Penn students against their will and sexually assaulting one in Dec. 2008.
Mark Cipolletti, the prosecuting lawyer from the DA’s office, was unable to disclose the DA’s plea offer.
“[Wilson] decided it wasn’t an appropriate time to take an offer,” said Wilson’s lawyer Michael McDermott, citing Wilson’s upcoming trial in another county for an offense unrelated to the alleged Spruce Street assault.
“My client chose a jury trial … and to move the case along,” he added.
In Feb. 2009, Wilson was arrested in Lock Haven, Pa. on 36 criminal counts, including 12 related to an incident in which he allegedly held three students against their will at knife-point and sexually assaulted two of them at Lock Haven University.
