On Sunday night, the UA passed three student life-related proposals, all of which could benefit students in the near future.

The first proposal, regarding the Penn Video Network, urged the University to develop a cost-effective strategy for updating the infrastructure of the system. It also appealed to the University to add additional channels like BBC America, HBO and others.

The second proposal called for the addition of an "Undergraduate" tab to the current PennPortal system that would feature a UA Steering spotlight calendar.

The UA would also work to expand the number of events on the calendar to other student groups and work with the Student Committee on Undergraduate Education to create an academic-event Google calendar featuring special lectures and colloquia.

The third proposal addressed the issue of financial aid for summer study abroad programs. Currently, the several summer programs require students to accept or decline their placement in the program before they are told how much financial aid they will be receiving.

The proposal urged Student Financial Services to change the acceptance deadline so students may know how much financial aid they would receive before they decide to study abroad for the summer.
