Sweating it out last weekend? We here at PrognostiQuaking headquarters certainly were. At seven straight wins and counting, our winning streak was in danger. Make it eight in a row for the kings of prognostication, though, after a dazzling comeback victory. Ivy League, here we come! Season 48 begins with a battle against the Dartmouth Big Green. Although, with their performance of late -- two heartbreaking losses by a combined 47 points -- the Big Green have been playing more like tiny board game pieces than monsters. So what figure best represents this week's opponent? Perhaps the most appropriate mascot would be Clue's Mr. Green. Always the swindler, Mr. Green will stop at nothing to overcome his lack of natural skill and solve the mystery. And so with this in mind, we called upon a truly brilliant collegiate mind to predict the outcome of this weekend's battle: Professor Plum. Unfortunately, when we contacted his Parker Brothers office, his secretary Veronica informed us that he was out of the office (probably cavorting with Miss Scarlett or Yvette, the sexy maid). Disappointed but unfazed, we called upon another equally wise man for a prediction. And Jerry Plum, nicknamed "The Professor" in his middle school days because of his pipe-smoking habit, was happy to help from his home in Phillipsburg, N.J. "Doc" Plum said the best way to defeat Mr. Green is to "wait until the other characters leave the room and hit him over the head with the candlestick." Sneaky indeed. It'll be the Quakers with the candlestick on the gridiron. Penn 36, Mr. Green 9 Third Week picks
