The Penn women's squash team is now officially without a coach.
In early May, Penn coach Demer Holleran announced her resignation after leading the team for the last nine years.
The official date on which her resignation was to be effective was last Saturday, June 30.
And despite conducting a "national search" over the past two months, a suitable replacement has yet to be found, leaving the Quakers without a coach for the time being.
Holleran has played a role in the search for her replacement, but it is unclear how much of a say she has in the final decision.
She decided to leave the Penn women's squash program with the intention of starting a squash and fitness club in the Philadelphia area.
The Princeton graduate led the Quakers to unprecedented success during her tenure at the team's helm, compiling a 72-36 record and bringing the Howe Cup and a national championship to Penn for the first time in the history of the program in March of last year.
Holleran coached four of her players to All-America status this season. Each of those four players -- Helen Bamber, Rina Borromeo, Lauren Patrizio and Runa Reta -- were also All-Ivy selections and top-16 finishers in the Women's Intercollegiate Squash Association Individual National Championships last March.
