Penn senior Carrie Biemer's career-high 32 points were still not enough to carry the women's basketball team in a 76-63 loss to Rider in Lawrenceville, N.J. on Tuesday.

Biemer was 11-for-27 from the field - including 5-for-10 from beyond the arc - but no other Quakers scored in double figures or even attempted more than five shots.

In a repeat of Saturday's game at Princeton, Penn struggled out of the gates and trailed 32-18 at halftime. The Quakers responded with a season-best 45 second-half points but could not manage to contain the perimeter shooting of Rider guards Tammy Meyers, Cintella Spotwood and Amanda Sepulveda.

Penn will have time to rest and recuperate before its final non-conference test of the season at home against Seton Hall on Jan. 26.

Ivy League play will resume on Jan. 30, when the Quakers take on perennial powerhouse Harvard
