Zack Rosen had his chance to prove his mettle in Red and Blue.
With under four seconds remaining and Penn trailing Drexel by three, the freshman guard drew a foul on one-handed prayer from beyond the arc.
But his first free throw clanked off the rim. A visibly dejected Rosen made the second, but he was forced to intentionally miss the third. Forward Cameron Lewis came down with it, but he passed it up and Brennan Votel's last-second desperation hook-shot was no good, as the Quakers fell to Dragons, 66-64, at the Daskalakis Athletic Center early Tuesday morning.
Votel finished with 17 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while guard Kevin Egee was impressive off the bench, leading the Quakers with 18 points.
The biggest story, though, was what did not happen for Penn. Sophomore Tyler Bernardini, who shined against No. 1 North Carolina, had 14 points but for most of the game was a non-factor, and the Red and Blue were an atrocious 13-for-28 (46.4 percent) from the line. They weren't noticeably better from the field, where they shot just 37.7 percent.
