A chippy match at Myslik Field fell Penn's way, 1-0, by a penalty, as the Quakers secured their second tournament title of the young season.
In the 90-degree Princeton, N.J., heat, the Red and Blue (3-0-1) kept their cool amid hard fouls and intense American pressure in the second half.
Omid Shokoufandeh nailed a handball-induced penalty kick low and right in the 24th minute, and Drew Healy picked up his fourth consecutive clean sheet. He took some bumps inside the box, but captain John Elicker and the back four stifled every crossing opportunity and free kick.
Penn was the only team with two wins at the Princeton Invitational. It downed Seton Hall, 2-0, on Friday night, as senior forward Andrew Ferry - kept out of the starting lineup with a lingering foot injury - recorded the second multigoal performance of his career.
Just after the 61-minute mark, a Seton Hall clearing attempt landed at Ferry's feet, and he lifted a shot to the upper left side. Fifteen minutes later, Ferry took freshman Nick Unger's pass from the left corner, and from ten yards out again found the upper left side.
The Quakers have their first home game on Friday vs. Buffalo at Rhodes Field.
