Penn fans who are still uneasy seeing former men's hoops head coach Fran Dunphy on the Temple sidelines may have a little bit longer to get accustomed to the image.
On July 16, Temple announced that they had agreed to a two-year extension with Dunphy, which will keep him under contract with the Owls through the 2013-14 season.
Temple is rewarding Dunphy for what has been a great deal of success for Penn's Big 5 rival.
After posting a 12-18 (6-10 Atlantic 10) record in his first season with the team, Dunphy led the Owls to a 21-13 (11-5) record and the school's first NCAA Tournament birth since 200-01. Dunphy was named the 2008 Eastern College Coach of the Year for helping the team share a Big 5 title and win the A-10 tournament.
In his 17 years with the Red and Blue, he racked up a school record 310 wins to go along with nine NCAA tournament bids.
